PERFORMANCE

Over the years we have been able to host quite a lot of popular jazz artists in our club. Some of which include:

Marquis Hill

Marquis Hill started playing jazz music as a professional at a young age precisely when he was in fourth grade. His sound was able to stir the blood of the good people of Chicago. He later established himself as a professional trumpeter and this was when his career really took off.

Marquis has been the recipient of several awards both national and international and this includes the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition Award in 2014. We have been privileged to host Marquis Hill in our club and we look forward to having him again in the future

Esperenza Spalding

Esperenza Spalding is one of the most renowned female artiste we have ever had the pleasure to host at the club. She is a consummate violinist and has always had an incredibly high level of skill which still remains as good today as it was when she was five. She currently has four studio albums under her belt which makes her one of the most relevant modern jazz artists to listen to in this current era.

Gregory Porter

Greg - as we call him, is a professional jazz musician based in faraway California. He started his professional journey over two decades ago and by the time he stepped into Harlem, his name was gold. He is one of the few Grammy winners to have been hosted by our club and his album Liquid Spirit remains one of the best jazz albums of all time.

Mary Lou Williams

Mary Lou Williams (God bless her soul) was the biggest act we have ever hosted in this club. The venerable lady was jazz herself. From time immemorial she has been playing the genre in every era later doing different styles of music during the 70s. She was one of the few jazz artists who has been able to transcend the realm of jazz breaking into contemporary and classical music by playing with an accompanying Orchestra at the famed Carnegie Hall. A consummate musician, composer, and pianist, she has remained the most relevant woman in the history of modern jazz.

We have hosted other major artists as well as upcoming stars. If you would like to play in our club please contact us here.
